Ultradent Products, Inc. announces the release of the Halo™ Short Ring and XS Wedge, expanding the Halo sectional matrix system to better address the challenges of restoring short teeth and tight posterior spaces.
The Halo Short Ring is engineered with a reduced vertical profile that keeps the ring closer to the occlusal plane, significantly improving visibility of the matrix, marginal ridge, and contact area. This enhanced visualization allows clinicians to work with greater precision, particularly in cases where traditional rings extend above the occlusal plane. The lower height also minimizes interference during composite placement, contouring, and light curing, enabling more efficient workflows.
Designed specifically for short crowns and partially erupted teeth, the Short Ring offers improved seating and stability, making placement more intuitive and predictable. Its compact form factor enhances access for instruments and curing lights on short clinical crowns, while also facilitating easier placement in tight posterior regions. Additionally, the design reduces the risk of soft-tissue impingement, helping minimize gingival pinching and improving overall patient comfort. Like the Halo Universal Ring, the Halo Short Ring delivers consistent tooth separation and reliable matrix stabilization where it matters—without unnecessary bulk.
Complementing the system, the new XS Wedge provides clinicians with greater versatility for achieving optimal gingival adaptation in narrow embrasures and delicate anatomies. Together, these additions extend the Halo system’s ability to deliver precise, predictable Class II restorations across a wider range of clinical scenarios.
With the introduction of the Halo Short Ring and XS Wedge, Ultradent Products continues to refine restorative solutions that prioritize improved clinical outcomes, adaptability, and patient comfort.
