In the recent evolution in composite resin technology a new class of materials known now as color-matching universal composites emerged. The idea behind these materials is that they should provide for pronounced blending/matching with the underlying substrate, drawing from the surrounding natural tooth structure, thus resulting in better color blending between tooth and restoration.
