1. Why should I use Transcend™ universal composite? What is so special about it?

Transcend universal composite is not only an innovative, state-of-the-art dental material. It is rather a genuine one-shade composite, providing unprecedented shade matching with just one Universal Body shade. During the development of Transcend composite, it was our dedicated aim to make the handling for the user as easy as possible. Also, there is not even the need for a blocker or opaquer to hide darker underlying colors.

  1. I do not even need a blocker or opaquer? How does that work?

The well-known and patented Ultradent RPM (Resin Particle Match™) Technology is also a part of Transcend composite’s nanohybrid formula. It provides balanced refractive indices between resin and filler particles and thus, a perfect transillumination. In combination with an optimized tuning between translucency and opacity, Transcend composite has the ability to blend into most surrounding dentition with just one shade – completely without the use of a blocker. The Universal Body shade even has the capability of adjusting itself. During a whitening process for example, it will continue to match the surrounding dentition ideally.

As a patient uses Opalescence™ tooth whitening, the restoration will continue to adapt to lighter shades.

  1. For which indications can I use Transcend composite?

Transcend composite is a real allrounder: it can achieve beautiful results in most direct and indirect restoration cases and is ideally suitable in anterior as well as posterior regions, such as direct bonded composite veneers, diastema closure, repair of porcelain/composite, indirect veneers, inlays and onlays. The additional plus: your practice inventory management has never been so easy.

  1. Can I also use Transcend composite in cases a layering technique is required?

For more esthetically demanding anterior cases in which a layering technique is appropriate, a simple complementary shade system comprising of four dentin and two enamel shades is available. For the reconstruction of anterior teeth with a noticeable difference between cervical and incisal areas (opaque and translucent regions), and/or for larger restorations, such as large Class III and IV cases with a lack of tooth structure from which the Universal Body shade draws shade, beautiful outcomes can be achieved through the layering of the additional dentin and enamel shades.

“I was delighted to test the new Transcend universal composite from Ultradent Products in my practice. It can be used for the creation of high-quality, esthetic fillings and the treatment of all cavity classes, whether these are cervical fillings or fillings with three surfaces in the posterior region. The composite is easy to handle and to shape. Even in posterior regions, esthetic fillings can be produced. After the polishing, no filling margins are visible anymore and the tooth appears with a natural shine.”

“After having treated several cases with Transcend composite, I am very happy with this new universal composite. Transcend composite gives me the extraordinary opportunity to master any shade challenge. Most of the other available single shade composites have limitations regarding their use. The Transcend composite system is different: if required, its Universal Body shade can be combined with the additional dentin and enamel shades, providing more predictability and success to my treatments.“
